\u201c[The heart\u2019s] energy became perceptible in Nante\u2019s composition through constant sounds and movements as life energy, without its beat clumsily pushing into the foreground. Nante\u2019s extensive oeuvre is characterized by a nocturnal and dreamlike atmosphere which opens the door to a spiritual world. Born in Buenos Aires in 1992, he has already firmly established himself in the concert halls with his work. In 2025 his third Symphony An\u0101hata, <\/em>a celebration of the heart symbol, was premiered in ElbPhilharmonie by the Staatsorchester Hamburg conducted by Kent Nagano, with the singers Mojca Erdmann, Evan Hughes, the organist Olivier Latry and the Audi chor.<\/p>\n

In 2024, As the first recipient of the Prix Pisar \u2013 in collaboration with The Juilliard School, Villa Albertine and Th\u00e9\u00e2tre des Champs Elys\u00e9es \u2013 his piece\u00a0A Subtle Chain<\/em>\u00a0was premiered by the soprano Jodie Devos and the orchestra Les Si\u00e8cles conducted by Fran\u00e7ois Xavier Roth.<\/p>\n

In 2022 El R\u00edo de Luz<\/em> was premiered by Los Angeles Philharmonic under Gustavo Dudamel and O nata lux<\/em> by the Haydn Orchestra of Bolzano under Kent Nagano.<\/p>\n

Three major works for the Orchestre National de Lille were heard as part of his 2021 \u2013 2023 residency: \u00a0Sinfon\u00eda del cuerpo de luz<\/em>, conducted by Alexandre Bloch and nominated to Victoires de la musique classique, his second symphony\u00a0Myst\u00e9rion<\/em>, for orchestra, choir, and vocal soloists, conducted by Ben Glassberg and Luz de lejos<\/em>\u00a0\u2013 a piano concerto for Alexandre Tharaud conducted by Emilia Hoving, recently released in Tharaud\u2019s album \u201cConcertos\u201d (Erato\/Warner Classics).<\/p>\n

Alex Nante was a fellow at the Herrenhaus Edenkoben until December 2021, where he composed a new string quartet for the JACK Quartet. At the beginning of 2021, his string quartet\u00a0Prima Materia\u00a0<\/em>was premiered at the Lucerne Festival with the Quatuor Diotima.<\/p>\n

Current projects include two monographic CDs, one with Ensemble \u00c9coute (Label B records) and the other with Vanessa Wagner (Label La Scala). His Bach homage Ein feste Burg<\/em> will be premiered on October 2025 by the Dresdner Philharmonie conducted by Kent Nagano.<\/p>\n

Alex recently founded in Buenos Aires the vocal ensemble\u00a0Terra Lucida\u00a0<\/em>of Vocaci\u00f3n Humana, which he conducts. The purpose of the ensemble is to interpret sacred music of East and West, with the aim of contributing to interreligious and intercultural dialogue, as well performing regularly in hospitals and collaborating in various social projects.<\/p>\n

In addition to\u00a0Terra Lucida<\/em>, Alex was as well the co-founder of Ensemble \u00c9coute of the Cit\u00e9 Universitaire de Paris, Ensemble Awkas and Orquesta Amigos de la Nueva M\u00fasica.<\/p>\n

The Argentine, who is also trained as a guitarist, pianist, and conductor, has studied with Sir George Benjamin, Peter E\u00f6tv\u00f6s, Stefano Gervasoni, Luis Mucillo, Santiago Santero, and Daniel D\u2019Adamo, earning a doctorate from King\u2019s College London and degrees from the Conservatoire de Paris, the National University of the Arts of Argentina, Universit\u00e9 Paris 8 and the Conservatoire de Reims.<\/p>\n

The first major premieres of Alex Nante\u2019s works took place in relation to his numerous early awards. These include compositions such as\u00a0Fulgor<\/em>, (1st Prize 2010 Daegu Contemporary Music Orchestra Competition, South Korea)\u00a0Tres sue\u00f1os l\u00facidos\u00a0<\/em>(1st Prize \u201cGuillermo Graetzer\u201d composition competition 2013, world premiere with the Orquesta Sinf\u00f3nica Nacional 2017),\u00a0La p\u00e9r\u00e9grination vers l\u2019Ouest\u00a0<\/em>(Orchestre National d\u2019\u00cele de France, Compositions Prize \u00cele de Cr\u00e9ations 2015 and Premio Nacional 2018) and\u00a0Helles Bild<\/em>\u00a0(Sinfonieorchester Basel, 2nd<\/sup>\u00a0prize Basel Composition Competition 2019). Several works were written in 2018 as part of the Peter E\u00f6tv\u00f6s Mentoring Program; among others, the flute concerto\u00a0de luz y sue\u00f1o<\/em>\u00a0was premiered with the Hungarian Radio Symphony Orchestra.<\/p>\n

Two major commissions followed in 2019:\u00a0Invocaci\u00f3n\u00a0<\/em>was premiered by the Orquesta Filarm\u00f3nica de Buenos Aires at the Teatro Col\u00f3n and\u00a0Las noches de las piedras<\/em>\u00a0was launched by Ensemble Musikfabrik under Peter E\u00f6tv\u00f6s in Cologne. Also in 2019, Alex Nante received the Prix de composition de la Fondation Salabert for\u00a0Estrella de la ma\u00f1ana<\/em>, based on poems by Jacobo Fijman \u2013\u00a0 an example of the influence mystical poetry from East and West present in many of his vocal works.<\/p>\n

His film music received distinctions in festivals in Spain and Argentina, such as the scores written for Sebasti\u00e1n Alfie\u2019s\u00a0The Kaiser of Atlantis<\/em>\u00a0and for Alejandro Fadel\u2019s\u00a0Murder Me, Monster<\/em>.<\/p>\n

Alex Nante\u2019s works have been recorded by distinguished artists and ensembles. About his CD\u00a0Le Fil d\u2019Ariane<\/em>, which is a juxtaposition of his music with that of Pietro Locatelli, made in collaboration with violinist Marianne Piketty and Le Concert Id\u00e9al, Le Monde wrote enthusiastically, \u201ceach page of our young contemporary is a masterpiece of sensitive diffraction, as intelligently composed as it is deeply felt.\u201d<\/p>\n

Alex Nante received the support of Acad\u00e9mie des Beaux-Arts \u2013 Institut de France, Mozarteum Argentino, Iberm\u00fasicas, Acad\u00e9mie Musicale de Villecroze and Fondation Banque Populaire.<\/p>\n

His works are edited by Durand \/ Universal Music Publishing Classical and \u00c9ditions Henry Lemoine.<\/p>\n
